Premium Floors Swampy Plains 2004-05-17

-Trip Report-

Well, what a trip it was! Fishing in some of the most pristine, trout filled rivers in Mainland Australia with a great bunch of guys and led by some of the best guides in Australia! Four days, great weather, splendid food, superb company, sensational guiding and plenty of fish. The Premium Floors Swampy Plains 2004 trip could only possibly be described as a roaring success. This in mind, letˇ¦s reminisce!

Sunday 21st March

Stuart and Chris left Melbourne early and arrived in Corryong at about 2pm. Busting to have a fish, they headed off to the Nariel Creek (fishing upstream of the second bridge) to see if Chris could nail ˇˇ±the fishˇ¨ that would see the Premium Trophy return to Tasmania. An enjoyable but fishless afternoon was had and the boys, thinking that the Nariel Creek was devoid of fish, returned to Corryong to meet up with David and Graham. Enjoying a fine meal and a few beers at the local pub (the one Mark Weigall didnˇ¦t recommend), the boys returned to the Bakery to meet Bill and head off to the cabin. On the way to the cabin, Stuart and Chris sighted two female deer, sparking a rendition of a Julie Andrews Classic Khe Sahn. Timing it perfectly, we were led to the cabin by Dash Laver who chose to start guiding a little early. Monday morning we were all given an opportunity to fully appreciate the landscape over a coffee and a healthy serving of Magnificent Mickˇ¦s bacon and eggs.
