Beginning his fishing in the UK, before hitchhiking across the USA in the 60’s, then moving to Australia, David's interest in fly fishing and fly tying had a truly international evolution!
An uncanny eye for detail and innate sense of proportion, mixed with a photographic mind, saw David quickly established himself as one of Australia’s leading flytyers.
David joined Mark and Philip Weigall during the foundation of Millbrook Lakes some 9 years ago. As a guide, David mixes experience with patience and a sense of humour once referred to as being ‘As dry as a creek bed’. We suspect his relaxed and unflappable nature harks back to those road trip days in the 1960s! David instils confidence whenever he is teaching: whether fly tying, or casting to big 'bows in spooky water, or searching the depths. With David, you will learn about life, flies, fishing, and anything else if you care to ask! |
