Philip Weigall

Philip Weigall has been flyfishing for over 40 years and guiding for 25 of those. He’s the editor of FlyStream magazine www.flystream.com and he’s written nine flyfishing books.
Philip is passionate about helping anglers of any level to become better flyfishers. His only flaw is a hatred of weak tippet that borders on obsessive.

Craig Coltman

Craig Coltman is a passionate fly fisher and is the current Commonwealth Fly Casting Champion. As a youngster, he was regularly pulled out of his grandparent’s fish pond, the beginning of his life time fascination for fish and their environment.
Five decades later, Craig holds the distinction of representing Australia at more World, Commonwealth and Oceania Fly Fishing Championships than any other angler. He is the current Captain of the Australian Team, which will compete at the World Fly Fishing Championships in Slovakia 2017.
Craig has fly fished around the world and brings his extensive world and competition experience to his guiding. He appears on talkback radio as a guest speaker, blogs, has a fly tying column for Fly Stream Magazine, and writes for national publications.

Scott Xanthoulakis

Scott Xanthoulakis learned his craft from some of Australia’s finest fly fishers, fly tiers, guides and writers. The rivers and streams of the North-East and Snowy Mountains and the lakes of Victoria’s Goldfield and Volcanic regions played backdrop to what many called a “misspent youth”. We’re still not sure about that!
Scott’s fly fishing passion turned to an obsession, with him regularly venturing to exotic locations like New Zealand, Tasmania and many Pacific Islands, including exploratory trips to ‘off-the-grid’ islands.
Nowadays, Scott gains his greatest fulfillment from teaching others the finest details of fly fishing and seeing the enjoyment that it brings them. Scott’s creativeness and ability to ‘think outside the circle’ provides Millbrook clients with more opportunities to land a Millbrook monster!

Mark Weigall

Mark Weigall founded Millbrook over 25 years ago. He’s been flyfishing for as long as he can remember and remains mad keen to this day. Although his brother Philip is loath to admit it, Mark is a gifted flyfisher with vast experience in catching everything from trout to tuna (just don’t mention permit!)
Jon Clewlow

Jon Clewlow first started flyfishing in the womb. His failure to catch anything only spurred him on and by the age of 3, Jon was representing Australia in the Junior World Fly Fishing Championships.
Variously described by his peers as flamboyant, neat, fastidiously clean and just a little testy, Jon is perhaps best known in flyfishing circles as the only person who wears a red fly vest (and oh alright, as a columnist for FlyLife magazine.)

Kiel Jones

Kiel Jones grew up fishing Victoria’s central highland lakes. He caught his first trout on fly at age 11 and never looked back, becoming obsessed with turning over the rocks at Hepburn and Newlyn in search of any bug that could trick a fish.
Kiel’s flyfishing habit leads him all over Australia and the world - back at the highland lakes chasing midge feeding trout, spring time dun feeders on the shores of the local waters, the rivers of New Zealand’s back country, GT’s and bone fish on pacific islands, Victoria’s north east rivers and the Snowy Mountain streams of NSW.
Kiel is an excellent guide who has a passion for teaching beginners and up-skilling seasoned fly fishers - his drive for catching fish and having a good time is infectious.

Chris Schrueder

Chris Schrueder like many flyfishers, began his fishing as a 6 year old jetty rat casting baits under the watchful gaze of his grandfather. By the early 1990s though, it was flyfishing that had become an obsession.
Chris’ first love on fly is trout, and the search for bigger fish and more challenging fishing has led to many trips to Tasmania and New Zealand. He also enjoys chasing Murray cod and many saltwater species. Chris has written articles for FlyStream, and he won the FlyLife Magazine 2022 Top Shot Competition for flyfishing photography.
A founding member and former president of the Calder Fly Fishing Association, Chris is a self-confessed gear junkie, and he loves the way that flyfishing combines technology, skill, travel, and the beauty of the great outdoors.

Justin Howlett

Justin Howlett - whenever Justin isn’t guiding Millbrook clients you will often find him on the Central Victorian lakes searching for his next trout fix.
When time allows Justin can also be found in Tasmania or various estuaries and saltwater destinations across Australia chasing anything that will take a fly.
As a self confessed flyfishing tragic, Justin loves nothing more than introducing beginners to a pursuit he is so passionate about and lives for the buzz of seeing someone land their first fish “on the fly.” By the same token, Justin gets just as excited when he plays a hand in experienced anglers landing their fish of a lifetime.
Justin is also an accomplished fly-tyer, constantly keeping fellow guides boxes stocked up. He is just as passionate (if not more so) when sharing tying tricks/ideas with clients……or even that “special fly.”
